Stacy Schiff is an acclaimed author, biographer and columnist who has been praised for both her meticulous scholarship and her witty style. She won the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for Vera, her biography of Vera Nabokov, wife and muse of Lolita author Vladimir Nabokov, and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Saint-Exupery, her biography of Antoine de Saint Exupery.

Her most recent biography, Cleopatra: A Life, was published to ecstatic reviews in 2010. Translated into 30 languages, Cleopatra won the PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for Biography.

Schiff has contributed frequently to The New York Times op-ed page and New York Times Review. She has also written for The New Yorker, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and the Boston Globe, among other publications. She has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library.

The recipient of an Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, Schiff was named a 2011 Library Lion of the New York Public Library.

A native of western Massachusetts, Schiff lives in New York City. She is at work on a book about the Salem witch trials, due out in October.
