Pat Buchanan has been senior advisor to three presidents: from 1966 to 1974, he was confidant and assistant to Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford; and from 1985 to 1987, he was White House Director of Communications for Ronald Reagan. He served Nixon all 18 months of the Watergate scandal and Reagan for the first four months of Iran-Contra. A journalist by vocation, Buchanan writes a syndicated column twice weekly and co-hosts CNN's Crossfire. He also appears as a panelist on the popular NBC/PBS panel McLaughlin Group.

Right from the Beginning, the latest of Buchanan's three books, is a personal memoir and Washington best-seller about growing up catholic and conservative in the nation's capitol.

An honors graduate in English and Philosophy from Georgetown, Buchanan received his master's degree from the Columbia School of Journalism in 1962. Recently, Buchanan has started a monthly newsletter titled "PJB...from the Right."
