Faye Wattleton
Advocate for Women and Children, former President and CEO of Planned Parenthood
Faye Wattleton has been at the forefront of issues involving families, healthcare and civil rights for over two decades. She is a relentless advocate for women and children, and is the former President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (1978-1992)
Wattleton has dedicated her career to ensuring that reproductive healthcare is available to all people. Her work has not only shaped the nation's debate on family planning and reproductive rights, it has also influenced program development worldwide.
Wattleton has been predominantly featured in the national media for her work, and has received numerous awards and honorary doctoral degrees acknowledging her many contributions to society. In light of her pioneering achievements, she has recently been selected to be inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
She is currently wiring a book titled Life on the Line, to be published by Alfred A. Knopf.
