Chris Wallace joined ABC News in 1989 as Chief Correspondent for Prime Time Live, coming from NBC, where he had been a reporter since 1975. At ABC, Wallace has contributed a number of investigative stories, including waste and fraud in the Medicare, Food Stamp and Federal Disability programs; his series of congressional investigations, a report, in a hidden-camera investigation, into gender bias; investigation of baggage theft at U.S. airlines, and the spread of "superbugs" resistant to treatment by antibiotics. He has received two Emmy Awards, two Investigative Reporters and Educators Awards, the George Polk Award, and the National Press Club award for consumer journalism, among others.

Chirs Wallace has been a news reporter, investigative journalist, correspondent, anchor, and interviewer for over 20 years. He covered the Presidential campaigns in 1980, 1984, and 1988 for NBC, was anchor of the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News from 1982-1984 and from 1986-1987, and co-anchored the Today show in 1982. Chief White House Correspondent from 1982-1989, Wallace covered President Reagan's trip to China in 1984 and four Reagan-Gorbachev summits. He has interviewed and profiled a diverse group of personalities including Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, a key figure in the World Trade Center bombing; NBA superstar Magic Johnson; Edith Cresson, French Prime Minister; Nicki "The Crow" Caramandi, a former Mafia "hit man;" and Jodi Foster, among many others. His profile of Thaddeus Lott, a Houston elementary school principal whose school for underprivileged students regularly outperformed more affluent suburban schools, was honored with a Cine Golden Eagle Award, an American Film and Video award and an Emmy nomination.

Chris Wallace is a frequent substitute host of Nightline.
