Tim Gunn
Tim Gunn is the co-host and mentor for Project Runway, a six-time Emmy nominated television program and reality-based fashion design incubator. He is also the Fashion Dean at Fifth & Pacific (now Kate Spade & Co.), where he is responsible for attracting, retaining and developing the creative talent within the portfolio of brands. Prior to joining the company, Gunn was the chief creative officer at Liz Claiborne Inc., and on the faculty and chair of fashion design at Parsons The New School of Design.
Known for his catchphrase, "Make it work," Gunn received a Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 for Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program for Project Runway. Gunn's popularity on Project Runway led to two spin-off shows, Bravo's Tim Gunn's Guide to Style and Lifetime's Under the Gunn.
Gunn has three best-selling books: Guide to Quality, Taste & Style; Tim Gunn's Fashion Bible; and Tim Gunn's Life Academy. He has appeared in a wide range of publications, from The New York Times to Entertainment Weekly and Martha Stewart Living, as well as Fortune and Fast Company. His articles have appeared in Elle, Seventeen, People, US Weekly and Fortune, and he has a monthly feature in People Style Watch and Marie Claire.
He's also a superhero, thanks to a Marvel comics special feature, Loaded Gunn, in which he dons the Iron Man armor to fight crimes against fashion.
A champion swimmer throughout high school, Gunn attended the Corcoran College of Art and Design, receiving a BFA in sculpture.
