Bob Weir
Founding member of the Grateful Dead
Bob Weir , co-founder of the legendary "Grateful Dead," is a musician for whom the music hasn't stopped since he first discovered its magic at age 5, growing up in the suburbs of San Franciso. Even after 30 years, 2,500 concerts, and dis-banding, "The Dead" continues to have a phenomenal following. Today, Weir plays with the band he started in 1995, "Ratdog." He demonstrates his commitment to social/humanitarian efforts in his lobbying and writing on environmental issues, assistance to arts and youth-serving organizations.
