Bob Beckel
Leading Political Analyst
One of Washington's leading political analysts, Bob Beckel began his political career in Robert Kennedy's 1968 campaign. As Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in 1977 has steered the controversial Panama Canal Treaties through Congress. He moved to the White House to head an Administration effort to press Congress into passing the Mideast and SALT II treaties.
In 1984, Beckel served as National Campaign manager for Walter Mondale, and is known as the man who wrapped "Where's the Beef?" so effectively around Gary Hart. In 1989, Beckel formed BBA Inc.-a political analysis and public affairs company.
In addition to writing a syndicated column for the Los Angeles Times, Beckel in a frequent guest on "CBS News," NBC Nightly News," and ABC's Good Morning America," among others, and has served as guest host for CNN's "Crossfire" and "Larry King Live."
